Teen Challenge Receives Winston-Salem

Foundation Grant

1/21/01 --

The Winston-Salem Foundation awarded $1,000 to Teen Challenge North Carolina from funds provided by the J. T. Greene, Jr. Charitable Trust for their work with women with life-controlling problems.

The J. T. Greene, Jr. Charitable Trust was established to provide meaningful and effective support for non-profit organizations.  The Winston-Salem Foundation serves to make the public aware of specific projects where their support can have a vital impact.

The Winston-Salem Foundation selects organization having direct involvement.  Teen Challenge North Carolina received the grant by the recommendation of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Greene, Jr. of Mocksville, North Carolina.

Teen Challenge North Carolina is a program for women with life-controlling problems.  These ladies have backgrounds of substance abuse, alcoholism, food addictions, undisciplined lifestyles and other life-controlling addictions.  Teen Challenge International has a 86% success rate for those individuals who graduate the program.

Teen Challenge North Carolina is now in its 31st year of service to ladies with life-controlling problems.  The six-acre campus is located in Harmony and is funded entirely by individuals, churches, and gifts from civic organizations and foundations.
