IntroductionTeen Challenge North Carolina is a charitable, non-profit program for ladies with life-controlling problems. This Christian discipleship program ministers to ladies 18-39 years of age. Each woman chooses to attend the program to renew and transform her life from the pain and destruction of her past through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Teen Challenge was founded by David Wilkerson, as he worked with inner city gangs, in 1958. The program has now grown into an international ministry with over 270 centers worldwide. Teen Challenge of North Carolina was established in 1973 in Harmony. Our Mission Teen Challenge of North Carolina was established to further the gospel of Jesus Christ by evangelizing ladies with life controlling problems. Teen Challenge's mission is to initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in society, and to apply spiritually motivated Biblical principles to relationships in the family, local church, chosen vocation, the community and to help them become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive! Teen Challenge believes that the only way a student can overcome the life-controlling problem is by establishing a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ. According to a study conducted by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and Northwestern University, the success rate for ladies admitted to this program for drug addiction is 86%! This percentage is found after tracking graduates from the program for seven years. The success rate among secular programs averages 3-8%. We give God all the credit for our success, as He is the only one able to set the captive free. Teen Challenge of North Carolina is a faith ministry. Our ladies are not required to pay room and board, tuition, or book fees. We do not receive federal, state or United Way monies, either. Funding for the program is largely gained by interested individuals, churches, businesses, and civic organizations. Teen Challenge of North Carolina is adding many more services to its program which you may learn about as you explore this site. Contact Information
